Lone Star Park History
1997 was the year when Lone Star Park first opened its doors. At this particular track, there are separate competitions for Quarter Horse racing and Thoroughbred racing. It served as the location for the Breeders’ Cup in the year 2004. It was necessary to temporarily extend the seating capacity in order to accommodate 50,000 people because of the overall scale of the event. Since May of 2011, the Chickasaw Nation has become the owner of the park since that time.
