Golden Knights Injury Update: Mark Stone Improving but Still Out for Game 2 vs Avalanche
During the morning skate that took place prior to Game 2 of the Western Conference Final, the captain of the Vegas Golden Knights, Mark Stone, took the ice. Due to a lower-body injury, he has been unable to participate in the last four postseason games.
As stated by John Tortorella, the head coach of the Golden Knights, he will be absent for the fifth consecutive game. Tortorella said that Stone will not be participating in Game 2.
Stone was absent from Game 2 according to all indications. Stone took part in drills during the morning skate, but the team did not engage in line rushes during that time span. Despite the fact that he had scratches, he continued to play on the rink and remained behind when others left. Following the moment when Stone was the sole player on the ice, he spent several minutes skating laps around the rink with Sean Ferrell, who is the skills coach for the Golden Knights players.
Since the third game of the Golden Knights’ series against the Anaheim Ducks in the second round, Stone has not been available for action. He was only on the field for 4 minutes and 24 seconds before sustaining a non-contact injury in the first period. During the second period, he went back to the bench, but after putting his legs through a test during a television timeout, he slammed his stick down and went down the tunnel.
Despite the fact that Stone skated with the scratches before to Game 1, this is the first time since his injury that he has been on the ice with the entire team. The Golden Knights are now competing against the formidable Colorado Avalanche in the Western Conference Final, and this might be a great development for them as they continue their journey.
