This is a risk, but it is the only option they have. There is no doubt that Benson and Doan have been the two greatest players for the Sabres throughout this series. If Thompson were to have that production with him, it might help him dig himself out of his slump.

Taking things one game at a time, the Sabres need to win their next two games in order to keep their season alive. However, they must proceed with caution. It is imperative that they do not leave anything on the table, and for the Sabres, this means that they must break up their top line in order to revive their attack.
