Tigers vs Rangers Series Preview: Detroit Travels to Texas for Key Three-Game Set

Right-handed pitcher Nathan Eovaldi will take the mound for the Rangers, and he will be hoping to build on his outstanding performance from his previous outing, in which he threw seven innings of shutout baseball, allowing five hits and a walk while striking out nine batters. This was a significant improvement for the 36-year-old pitcher, who had previously had a 5.11 earned run average and a 4.04 earned run average in his other four starts in June. During that stretch of 24 and a third innings, he allowed four home runs while striking out 25 batters.
