Lakers vs Timberwolves Betting Odds, NBA Play-In Prediction

Here are the Lakers vs Timberwolves Betting Odds, and the prediction for this NBA Play-In Tournament game.

The regular season for 2022–23 is over, and the bracket for the Play-In Tournament is set.

After a crazy end to the Western Conference, the Lakers will play the Timberwolves on April 11 at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles for the No. 7 seed. In the first round of the playoffs, the winner of this game will play the No. 2 seed Grizzlies.

Both teams have been to the Play-In Tournament before.

In 2021, LeBron James and Anthony Davis beat Stephen Curry and the Warriors in the Play-In to get the Lakers into the playoffs as the No. 7 seed.

Last season was only the second time in the last 18 years that the Timberwolves made the playoffs. They beat the short-handed Clippers in the Play-In to get the No. 7 seed.

Both teams lost in the first round after winning the Play-In Tournament. The Suns and the Grizzlies were the teams they lost to. This time, they will try to change that amount of money.

The Sporting News has everything you need to know before the Play-In game between the Lakers and the Timberwolves.

Lakers vs Timberwolves regular-season series

Two of the three games between Minnesota and Los Angeles were won by Minnesota.

  • October 28, 2022: Timberwolves 111, Lakers 102
  • The score on March 3, 2023 is Timberwolves 110, Lakers 102.
  • March 31, 2023: Lakers 123, Timberwolves 111

This season, the Timberwolves only played against the Lakers when James and Davis were both on the team. It’s no surprise that the only time they did, they lost.

In their first game, Anthony Edwards (with 29 points), Rudy Gobert (with 22 points), and Karl-Anthony Towns (with 21 points) scored 72 points to beat LeBron James (with 28 points) and win.

In their second meeting, Davis scored 38 points without James, but the Timberwolves still won because five players scored at least 10 points without Towns.

In their most recent game, both teams were close to full strength. Davis scored 38 points and grabbed 17 rebounds to lead Los Angeles to a win over Minnesota. Edwards, on the other hand, had a hard time, scoring only 11 points on 4-for-16 shooting from the field.

When asked about playing the Lakers in the Play-In after the Timberwolves’ last regular season game on Sunday, Edwards thought back to their last meeting.

“I’m all set, man. The last time I played with them, I sucked. So I’m excited to get on the floor “Dane Moore, who covers the Timberwolves, says that’s what he told the press.

The main thing to know about Lakers vs Timberwolves is if Rudy Gobert will be available

The Timberwolves’ last game of the regular season could not have gone any worse.

During a timeout, star center Gobert and teammate Kyle Anderson got into a heated argument. Gobert’s temper got the best of him, and he punched Anderson in the chest. Because of what Gobert did, the Timberwolves had to send him home and play the rest of a game that was very important for their playoff chances without one of their best players.

Minnesota still beat the Pelicans and got the No. 8 seed in the West, but in the process, it lost some key players.

The Timberwolves haven’t decided yet if they will suspend Gobert for their Play-In Game against the Lakers on Tuesday. This will be a big thing to keep an eye on on Monday.

But wait, it’s not over yet.

In addition to Gobert’s fight, All-Defensive Team candidate Jaden McDaniels punched a wall on his way to the locker room. After the game, it was found out that McDaniels broke his right hand. He won’t be able to play for the rest of the season.

This is more bad news for Minnesota, which already doesn’t have their important backup center Naz Reid because he broke his wrist with only five games left in the season.

Will the Timberwolves, who are short on players as they head into the Play-In Tournament, be able to beat James, Davis, and the rest to get the No. 7 seed?

Lakers vs Timberwolves Prediction

The Lakers will win.

Even if Gobert and both McDaniels and Reid were healthy and the Timberwolves were at full strength, I’d still pick the Lakers. With Gobert’s status uncertain and McDaniels and Reid both out, I don’t see how the Timberwolves can stop James and Davis from completely taking over this game.

In the two games Davis played against Minnesota this year, he averaged 38 points and 11 rebounds. James just had one of his best games of the season, getting 36 points, six rebounds, and six assists.

The Lakers are getting better just when they need to.
