All of these races carry a total of $200,000 in prize money.

The Charles Town Classic, which is a race for older horses that covers a distance of one and one-eighth mile, held its first competition in 2009. As a result of the winner’s graded status, the purse was “tiered” and decided by that status. It was possible to purchase the purse for anywhere between $500,000 and $1,000,000. Because to the increase in the payout to one million dollars in 2010, independent of the winner’s previous race record, this race became one of the most important races of the year in the United States of America.
