Philadelphia Eagles Betting: How to Bet on this Team
Now on this Philadelphia Eagles Betting page, let’s check out the different ways in which you can place a bet on this team:
Moneyline
The moneyline is the simplest wager, with the winners and losers of each game determined straight up. Think about the following instance:
- Eagles +310
- Chargers -185
The Eagles are marked as huge underdogs in this game (-185), paying out a total of $410 for a $100 wager ($310 in profits). In this game, the Chargers are the spread favorites, and $100 must be wagered to win $185. (plus the initial bet back). Moneyline wagers pay paid regardless of how much one team wins or loses; the amount is fixed.
Point Spread
How many points a team wins or loses by depends on the point spread bet. Consider the following instance:
Eagles-3.5 (-110)
Panthers +3.5 (-110)
In this case, Philadelphia has a 3.5-point advantage, which is denoted by “-3.5.” If the Eagles prevail 26-20, the Eagles (-3.5) win the wager and will receive a total payout of $19.09 ($9.09 profit) on a $10 wager. The Panthers (+3.5) would triumph and receive the same reward even if they kept the game close but ultimately fell short 26-23.
Point Total (over/under)
The point total is the over/under limit established by the books. Similar to prop betting, this wager is made on whether one believes the final score will be over or under the predetermined point total. For instance, the Dallas Cowboys-Eagles game in Week 8 was predicted to have a score of 56.5 points. That game was won by the Eagles 23-9 for a total of 32 points. In this game, betting on the under would have paid off.
The Eagles participated in a lot of high-scoring games and low-scoring games in 2020. Because of this, bookmakers determined average point totals for the Eagles that were frequently influenced by their opposition. Games against strong offensive teams like Baltimore and Green Bay, for instance, had higher point totals (between 53 and 56 points), whereas contests with New York and Washington had lower point totals (between 45 and 49 points).

Philadelphia Eagles Brief History
This team was born back in 1933 as a replacement franchise to the Frankford Yellow Jackets after the latter became bankrupt. An interesting factor is that back in 1943 the team joined forces with the Steelers and became the “Steagles. “
The reason is that there was a shortage of manpower due to World War II, and so these two franchises decided to become a solid unit for a single season, after which the teams went back to normal. The Eagles were a powerhouse previous to the AFL-NFL merger, winning 3 championship titles in 1948, 1949, and 1960.
But they weren’t able to win any titles after that, until 2017, when they became World champs after conquering Super Bowl LII. They did this by beating the Falcons in the divisional round, and getting a ticket to the NFC Championship game, where they took down the Vikings (this despite being considered the underdogs for the match).
This victory allowed Philly to travel to Minneapolis to play the Patriots at the NFL title game, where they got the first Vince Lombardi Trophy in the history of the team.
Philadelphia Eagles Team Rivalries
This team holds rivalries with the Cowboys, the Giants, the Washington Commanders, and the Steelers.
Dallas Cowboys
This has been one of the top foes for Philly throughout history. They have been pretty close since 2006, with both franchises getting twelve victories apiece. But the all-time leaders are the Cowboys, with a record of 63-51.
New York Giants
This is a very old rivalry, dating back to 1933, and both teams have been divisional foes since then. The clash of powerhouses became quite intense during the 40s and the 50s. And the rivalry can also be attributed to geographical reasons, due to the closeness of New York with Philadelphia.
This is a mirror of other sports rivalries between the cities, including Mets-Phillies in baseball, and Flyers-Rangers in hockey. The all-time series between these two is tied at 86-86-2.
Washington Redskins
Although not as fierce as the rivalry with the Giants, the Redskins are also big-time divisional foes of the Eagles. Right now, Washington leads the series between the two franchises with an 85-76-6 record.
Pittsburgh Steelers
This is definitely an intra-state rivalry as both of these franchises are located in Pennsylvania. They have been playing each other since 1933, and from that year until 1966, the Steelers were big rivals of Philly as both belonged to the same division.
But all that changed when they were put in different divisions back in 1967, although the rivalry continues… The Eagles are the all-time series leaders with a 47-28-3 record.
