Los Angeles Rams Betting: How to Bet on this Team

Now on this Los Angeles Rams Betting page, let’s check out the different ways in which you can place a bet on this team:

Moneyline

The moneyline is the most basic of bets, determined by the game’s straight-up winner and loser. Consider the following scenario:

  • Rams -115
  • 49ers +130

In this game, the Rams are considered spread favorites (-115), requiring a $115 wager to win $100. (plus the initial bet back). The 49ers are the underdogs in this game, with a total payout of $230 for a $100 bet ($130 in winnings). In moneyline betting, it makes no difference how much one team wins or loses; the payout remains the same.

Point Spread

Betting on the point spread determines how many points a team will win or lose. Consider the following example:

  • Rams -1.5 (-110)
  • Browns -1.5 (-110)

Los Angeles is favored on the spread by 1.5 points in this example, as indicated by “-1.5.” If the Rams win the game 23-20, the Rams (-1.5) win the bet and have a total payout of $10 on a $11 bet. If the Browns keep the game within two points and lose 24-23, the Browns (+1.5) win and the payout remains the same.

Point total (over/under)

The point total is the over/under line set by the books. This number forecasts the total number of points scored in a game and, like prop betting, is used to predict whether the score will go over or under a predetermined point total.

The Rams’ Week 13 game against the Arizona Cardinals, for example, had a projected point total of 54.5 points. The Rams won the game 38-28, for a total of 66 points. Those who wagered more than the point total would have won the wager.

Los Angeles Rams Brief History

The Rams have won a total of three NFL titles, and they are the only franchise to have acquired titles while representing three different cities. The team started its professional football run back in 1936, when they were based out of Cleveland, Ohio.

Then, in 1946, after winning the NFL title, they moved to LA, where they spent a few seasons before relocating once again to St. Louis, Missouri, just after the 1994 season.

And, just after five years at their new home, the team was able to acquire its first and only post-merger league title to date by defeating the Titans 23-16 at Super Bowl XXXIV.

They were able to also make it to Super Bowl XXXVI, but they fell to the Patriots 20-17. The Rams played in St. Louis until the end of 2015 when they filed for relocation to LA.

After an agreement was reached between NFL owners, the team returned to Los Angeles and has been playing there since 2016. They’ve been somewhat successful after moving back to LA, even making it to Super Bowl LIII, where they fell to the Patriots 13-3.

Los Angeles Rams Team Rivalries

As of now, the top rivalry for the Los Angeles Rams is versus the San Francisco 49ers.

San Francisco 49ers

The rivalry between the 49ers and the Rams was born back in 1950, and it acquired a lot of intensity during the seventies, even turning into one of the fiercest rivalries in the league at the time.

But this rivalry goes beyond the gridiron, as the rivalry between these two teams is a symbol of the competition between Northern and Southern California in different areas, such as economics, culture, and politics.

Now, this rivalry slowed down while the Rams were part of St. Louis, but soon after the team made it back to LA, the rivalry got heated up again. As of now, the NFL considers this to be the eighth top rivalry of all time in the league.
