Miami Dolphins Rookies Community Event: Special Olympics Athletes Join Team for Inspiring Outreach

There were a large number of undrafted free agents and thirteen new draftees selected by the Miami Dolphins in the 2026 NFL Draft class. The Dolphins also had a large number of draftees that were not selected. On Wednesday, those new players were given the opportunity to greet more than fifty athletes who competed in the Special Olympics at the practice facilities of the club. The athletes participated in games, signed autographs, and took photographs.

Several Dolphins rookies were interviewed by Travis Wingfield, who is also a part of the Dolphins media team. Wingfield asked the players what it meant to them to have the opportunity to give back to the community of South Florida, which is known for its warm and inviting atmosphere.

According to offensive lineman Kadyn Proctor, “It’s a great opportunity to get mixed in with the kids and show the love back to the community that loves us,” she added. It’s a lot of fun. It ought to be a secure location for them to come and simply have fun with us without any worries. That is the bare minimum that we could accomplish.

Wingfield stated that the event that took place on Wednesday was just the first of many planned offseason activities that were “designed to engage the rookie class with the South Florida community.” The objectives of these activities were to “build relationships, foster understanding, and create meaningful connections that contribute to a more unified South Florida.”
