Bill Belichick to the Cowboys? NFL Fans Rejoice as UNC Job Remains Unsigned

People all over the country heard in early December that the North Carolina Tar Heels had signed famous NFL head coach Bill Belichick to a five-year, $50 million deal. Coach Belichick has shown up at UNC and is now helping the team sign new players. But Belichick’s deal has still not been signed.

NFL Fans React to Report That Bill Belichick’s North Carolina Contract Is Still Unsigned

Belichick might be able to get better terms since he hasn’t signed his contract yet. The terms of his buyout with UNC could change if an NFL team wanted to sign him. This is important to keep in mind.

Should an NFL team want to hire Belichick after June 1, 2025, they would have to pay $10 million to get rid of him. It will be $1 million after that date.

Fans thought that Belichick might quit the Tar Heels and join an NFL team like the Dallas Cowboys.

One fan wrote, “He’s going to take the job.”

“Jerry Jones, call that guy and get him to the Dallas Cowboys as soon as you can,” one fan said. You can wait for Deion Sanders and Kellen Moore; this is Bill Belichick.”

“The Dallas Cowboys area code call is about to come in for Bill Belichick.” It’s Jerry Jones once more. “His pilot is about to leave,” said one more fan.

Some of his friends said they didn’t think he would go through with it.

“He took the job even though he knew an NFL chance was coming up soon.” He doesn’t seem like the type of person who decides on the spot. A fan wrote, “I think we can stop with all the ‘Bill is going back to the NFL stuff.'”

“That doesn’t make sense.” He could leave now without getting in trouble, right? “WOW,” one fan said.

“So how is he working for the school without a license or contract?” He worked hard to get recruits, and UNC is going to let him do it all by himself? Someone else added.

He hasn’t said anything that makes it sound like he doesn’t want to teach the Tar Heels, but this story says that he hasn’t signed his contract yet.

The deal probably hasn’t been signed yet because the lawyers need to fix a small problem. Belichick will probably be the head coach at UNC next season until proven otherwise.
