Herschel Walker Gets Bachelor’s Degree at 62 Years Old
Herschel Walker, a former candidate for the Republican Senate and a member of the College Football Hall of Fame, went across the stage at the University of Georgia on Friday to get his bachelor’s degree. Walker is 62 years old.
Walker finished his degree in housing management and policy from the university 42 years after he played his final college football season there in 1982, when he won the Heisman Trophy as a running back. Walker received his degree in housing management and policy.
In the midst of the presentation, Walker even did his signature pose for the Heisman Trophy.
Walker began his professional football career in the United States Football League (USFL), which was a league that competed with the National Football League (NFL) in the 1980s. Walker left the institution without obtaining a degree after the year 1982. President-elect Trump owned the New Jersey Generals at the time, and he was a member of the team that he played for.
The league disbanded, and Walker entered the National Football League Draft. In 1986, the Dallas Cowboys selected him in the fifth round of the draft.
One of the most famous deals in the history of the National Football League (NFL) occurred in 1989, and Walker was a part of it. The Dallas Cowboys sent Walker to the Minnesota Vikings in exchange for players and NFL Draft picks. The Cowboys used these players and picks to construct a team that won three Super Bowls in a span of four years, from 1992 to 1995.
