On Saturday, college football action will take place at FAU Stadium, featuring a matchup between the UConn Huskies and the Florida Atlantic Owls. UConn versus Florida Atlantic: Here’s a prediction for the game. Last weekend, the Owls were playing Tulane, and by the time the first half was out, they were trailing by a score of 21-10. During the Owls’ lackluster performance, Kaden Shields-Dutton added ten carries for 54 yards and a touchdown, and Easton Messer had nine receptions for 133 yards and a touchdown. Both of these players contributed to the Owls’ loss.

It’s going to be UConn for me in this one. In spite of the fact that they only had possession of the ball for 24 minutes and 35 seconds during the game, the Huskies were able to prevail against Air Force. The Connecticut Huskies finished with 347 total yards and a meager 155 yards passing, but they also had 6.5 yards per play, 18 first downs, and were successful on six out of ten third-down attempts. After allowing the Falcons to gain 290 yards on the ground, the Huskies were able to resist the Falcons’ onslaught of rushing attempts by only allowing them to convert four out of ten third downs. As a result, the University of Connecticut has won three games in a row, and they have scored at least 26 points in six consecutive games (a streak of 5-1).

On the other hand, Florida Atlantic allowed Tulane to score 403 total yards, 162 rush yards, 6.3 yards per play, and 21 first downs during the course of the previous weekend. However, they were able to prevent their opponent from converting third downs more than five times out of twelve times. However, this was of little consequence because the offense was only successful on six out of fourteen third downs (but only four out of six on fourth downs) and committed four turnovers during the game. In three consecutive games, Florida Atlantic has scored 24 or more points, and in two of those games, they have scored 32 or more points. In that trio of games, the Owls have only a record of 1-2, which is a problem. It is expected that UConn will have a great deal of scoring opportunities here.
