Tiger Woods undergoes surgery, full recovery expected

Tiger Woods will be sidelined for a while.

The 15-time major champion revealed on Tuesday that he recently tore his left Achilles tendon during training. He will be sidelined indefinitely following surgery on Tuesday morning to repair the tendon.

The social media post stated, “I felt a strong ache in my left Achilles, which was assessed to be ruptured, when I began to ramp up my own training and practice at home.”

“Dr. Charlton Stucken of the Hospital for Special Surgery in West Palm Beach, Florida, repaired a ruptured Achilles tendon this morning using a minimally invasive procedure. Dr. Stucken went on to say, “The procedure went smoothly, and we predict a full recovery.”

“I appreciate all of your support, and now that I’m back home, I intend to concentrate on my recuperation and rehabilitation.”
