Denver Broncos Betting: How to Bet on this Team

Now on this Denver Broncos Betting page, let’s check out the different ways in which you can place a bet on this team:

Moneyline

The moneyline is the simplest bet, and it is decided by who wins and who loses each game outright. Take a look at the following:

  • Broncos +310
  • Packers -185

The Broncos are a big underdog in this game. This is shown by the number +310, which means that a $100 bet will pay out $410 ($310 in winnings). In this game, the Packers are the underdog, and you have to bet $185 to win $100. (plus the initial bet back). Moneyline bets always pay out the same amount, no matter how much either team wins or loses.

Point spread

The number of points a team wins or loses by is based on how many points people bet on the point spread. Take a look at the following:

  • Broncos +6.5 (-110)
  • Pirates are -6.5. (-110)

In this case, “-6.5” means that Tampa Bay is favored by 6.5 points. If the Bucs win the game 27-20, the bet on the Bucs (-6.5) pays out $19.09 for a $10 bet, making a $9.09 profit. If the Broncos keep the game close and lose 23-17, they would win (+6.5) and the payout would be the same as what is shown above.

Total points (more or less)

The over/under line is what the point total is referring to. This number predicts the total number of points scored in a game, and like prop betting, people bet on whether they think the score will go over or under the set point total. For example, the game between the Broncos and the Dolphins in Week 11 was predicted to have a total of 43.5 points. Only 33 points were scored in that game, which Denver won 20–13. People who bet under the total number of points in that game would have won.

In 2020, the Broncos often had trouble scoring, which made it seem like their games would have fewer points. Usually, the over/under for a Broncos game is between 42 and 46 points, but it can go as low as 39 points. If Drew Lock doesn’t show up out of nowhere, projected point totals for 2021 should follow the same pattern.

Denver Broncos Brief History

The Broncos started as part of the AFL back in 1960, and they became an official NFL team after the 1970 merger between the two leagues.

This is a team that remained very uncompetitive for its first decade of existence. In fact, they weren’t able to complete an actual winning season until 1973.

Then four years later, in 1977, they managed to make it to the postseason for the first time in the history of the franchise, making it all the way to Super Bowl XII the very same year.

Also, since 1975, the Broncos have turned into one of the top NFL teams, with just seven losing seasons until today. 1997 and 1998 proved to be two of the most successful seasons for this franchise as they managed to get back-to-back Super Bowl titles. And they did it thanks to the outstanding work of quarterback John Elway, and rookie running back Terrell Davis.

Then, they enjoyed some regular times until 2012, when a new player arrived in town: legendary quarterback Peyton Manning. Manning missed the previous season due to neck injuries, but he was able to lead the Broncos to a 13-3 record during his first year in Denver.

The team finished with exactly the same record the following season, and with a 12-4 record in 2014. Then it came 2015, the other most glorious moment for this franchise as they managed to conquer their third Super Bowl title, just before Manning retired after 18 seasons in the league.

Los Angeles Chargers
