The team was born the Morgan Athletic Club back in 1898, and they are actually the oldest active football team in the United States. This franchise was originally from Chicago, and it joined the NFL as a charter member in 1920. The club made a move to St. Louis back in 1960, and they played there until 1987 when they moved to Arizona.
This team has won two NFL titles, one in 1925, and one in 1947, both when they were still based in Chicago. But, after getting those titles, the team entered a detrimental period where they didn’t win anything at all. In fact, they actually hold the longest active championship drought of North American Sports at 70 seasons straight without titles.
And, in 2012, the Cardinals became the first franchise in the league to lose 700 matches since its inception. With that said, the team has managed to make it to the postseason a total of ten times, and they have also managed to win seven playoff matches, including three wins in the 2008-09 playoffs.
That year, they were able to get the NFC Championship title and were also able to make it to Super Bowl XLIII, where they lost 27-23 to the Steelers. Arizona has also acquired five divisional titles, and they are the only team in the league that has never lost a postseason match at home, with a current record of 5-0.
