Vrabel took over a club that had a record of 4-13 in 2024 and ultimately guided them to a record of 14-3 during the regular season. They then went on to win three playoff games, which allowed them to get to the Super Bowl. On Sunday, the Patriots attack did not exhibit any signs of life until the Seahawks were already up 19-0. Despite this, it was tough to identify any positives in the 29-13 setback that the Patriots suffered.

“Disappointed. I reminded them that we’re 307 days into what hopefully is a long, successful relationship and program,” Vrabel explained to reporters. “It’s OK to be disappointed. We have to be disappointed and upset together. . . . Every year, somebody’s going to lose this game. We have to remember what it feels like and make sure it’s not repeatable.”

According to Vrabel, he was pleased with the effort that the Patriots put forth throughout the season. He also stated that he did not believe the performance was an accurate “reflection of our year.” However, he added that making such a significant leap in their first year together “wasn’t very valuable” if they are unable to find ways to improve in the months to come. In the meanwhile, the Patriots will have plenty of time to iron out the wrinkles before they return to the field of play. It will be some time before the answers on that front will have the opportunity to manifest themselves.
