Warriors Stay Perfect in Preseason, Beat Trail Blazers 118-111
A meeting between the Golden State Warriors and the Portland Trail Blazers took place during the preseason for the second time as well. It was the second time during the preseason that the Warriors were defeated by the Trail Blazers in the early stages of the game. Additionally, the Warriors were able to secure a victory over the Trail Blazers by utilizing a comeback strategy for the second time during the preseason play.
Throughout the entirety of the first half of the game that took place on Tuesday, the Warriors were trailing the Blazers by a significant margin. The Warriors were able to fall down by as much as 18 points during the second quarter of the game. The Warriors were trailing the Blazers by a score of five points as the game neared the halftime break that was scheduled to take place. The Blazers extended their advantage to ten points at the end of the third quarter, taking it back up to double figures for the first time since the last quarter. On the other hand, the Warriors were able to pull off yet another incredible comeback, and the All-Star guard Steph Curry was the primary power behind it.
The fact that thirteen of Curry’s game-high twenty-eight points came in the third quarter alone gave the impression that he was in good health during the middle of the season. Curry’s two triples in the third quarter served as the spark that sparked Golden State’s return to victory. Curry’s baskets were the catalyst for Golden State’s comeback. Trayce Jackson-Davis and Pat Spencer took over the responsibility of leading the Warriors’ comeback effort after Curry was taken out of the game in the fourth quarter.
With a score of 118-111, the Warriors were able to finish off the comeback and secure yet another victory in the preseason round of the competition. In the fourth quarter, Spencer and Jackson-Davis each scored seven points, and Quinten Post contributed five points to the overall tally.
Just prior to the halftime break, Jonathan Kuminga was removed from the competition when he made contact with a member of the official staff. It seemed as though Kuminga was expressing his displeasure with the fact that his earlier effort was not called for, and this occurred right before he was sent out of the game.
The Warriors and the Los Angeles Clippers will compete against one another in the final game of the preseason, which will take place on Friday night at Chase Center in San Francisco. It is expected that this game will be the final opportunity for the Warriors to keep their spotless record intact.
