Cowboys' KaVontae Turpin Arrested on Misdemeanor Charges

According to internet records, KaVontae Turpin, an All-Pro kick returner for the Dallas Cowboys, was taken into custody on Saturday by the Allen (Texas) Police Department. He is currently facing two misdemeanor counts.

The allegations against Turpin, who is 28 years old, include unlawful carrying of a weapon and possession of marijuana in quantities that are less than two ounces. He was placed into the Collin County Jail.

He posted a bond of $1,500 on Sunday, which allowed him to be freed from detention.

In March, Turpin, who also plays wide receiver, put his name to a contract extension with the Cowboys that was for $18 million over three years.

He topped the National Football League in return average (33.5 yards) during the first year of the dynamic kickoff, and he also took one kickoff for 99 yards and scored a touchdown against the Washington Commanders game. During the time period following the merger in 1970, his average was the second highest in the league. A punt return for a touchdown was also one of his accomplishments during the previous season, making him the only player in the league to have scored on both kick and punt returns.

Additionally, Turpin made history by becoming the first Cowboy to score touchdowns on punts, kickoffs, and receiving in a same season. A career-high 31 passes were received by him, resulting in 420 yards and two touchdowns, one of which was a 64-yard reception.
