Twenty-five is already a dismal year for sports fans in Miami, and it has only been a week since the new year began.

Jimmy Butler, a forward for the Heat, initiated the process by seeking a trade on Thursday the previous week. On Friday, the Heat removed Butler from the team because of his behavior that was damaging to the club.

Even if that wasn’t bad enough, the lowly Jazz defeated the Heat in a home game on Saturday night after a blowout victory.

And then Sunday arrived.

Not only did the Dolphins fail to qualify for the playoffs for the first time since 2021, but All-Pro receiver Tyreek Hill also effectively issued his own trade request after the Dolphins’ Sunday loss to the New York Jets, which was very disappointing.

What Hill said to the press was, “I’m opening the door.” Oh, bro, I’m leaving. I had a wonderful time playing here, but at the end of the day, I had to make decisions that would be beneficial to my career.

Hill continued by saying, “I’m too much of a competitor to be on the outside looking in.”

It was only natural for people on social media to compare the possible departures of Hill and Butler simultaneously.

An individual who goes by the handle @JeremyB69994883 on X (which was formerly known as Twitter) commented, “Tyreek Hill and Jimmy Butler basically said that we can own property in Miami, but that doesn’t mean I need to play for the teams anymore.”

During the heart of winter, Tyreek Hill and Jimmy Butler both desire to leave Miami, according to @AlfredoABrown, who made this observation. Snowbirds are completely and utterly bewildered by this news.

A user on X who goes by the handle @sirdibbydukes contrasted Hill and Butler for reasons that go beyond merely wanting to leave Miami.
