The Miami Dolphins game vs the Titans on Monday Night Football was a complete disaster that ended with a 31-12 score, and with Miami losing their third in a row.

The Fins have been playing without their star quarterback Tua Tagovailoa since September 12, when he suffered a concussion in a game vs the Buffalo Bills.

That key injury, and the subsequent injury by backup Skylar Thomson, forced the team to sign Tyler Huntley, who finished with just 96 passing yards vs Tennessee.

Tyreek Hill’s Struggles

Tyreek Hill didn’t have a good performance vs the Titans as he finished the game with a low 23 yards and only 4 catches. It’s quite clear that the star wide receiver has been struggling without his main pass caller.

All of this has created a tense environment in Miami, with Tyreek losing it during MNF’s last quarter as he started yelling on the Fins sideline, leading to a very awkward Mike McDaniel image during the ESPN broadcast.

This is definitely not great for the Dolphins, a team that is quickly turning into a full mess this current season.

How the Game Went

Tony Pollard led the Titans on MNF, and finished with 88 yards and one TD from a total of 22 carries (also managed to catch 2 passes for twenty yards).

Tyjae Spears was able to add 39 from 15, and also scored a touchdown. Wide receivers Tyler Boyd and DeAndre Hopkins were able to add 31 yards from 2 grabs, and Nick Fold was able to complete a total of 5 field goals.

For Miami, Tyler Huntley was the only player who scored a TD (a rushing touchdown) for his team, and finished with 14 completions and 96 yards.

Jayden Waddle’s night wasn’t awesome either, with just 4 catches and 36 yards on Monday Night Football.

Necessary Team Changes

It’s clear that the Dolphins are really struggling in the absence of Tua Tagovailoa, and during his post-game presser Mike McDaniel mentioned that he’s contemplating some roster changes.

“Everything’s on the table, but you can’t argue that the offense is good. To me, in a situation like this, I haven’t really been one where we have had production consecutively like this, so you’ve got to open your mind to all things.” McDaniel said.

One of the solutions for the team is to allow Tyreek Hill to return to the Chiefs in exchange for 3 draft picks (2 for the 2025 draft, and 1 for 2026).

This will be indeed a good way to bring some relief to the team’s shortage of wide receivers after the injuries by Marquise Brown (shoulder), and Rahee Rice (knee).

Needless to say, this is a trade that favors the Chiefs as they will just be adding to the championship-caliber team they already are.

In Miami they are clear about Rice’s situation, as the player is likely not to be active for the foreseeable future, and this means that right now it’s probably the right time to make a move.

Although Tyreek Hill has expressed that he loved his situation in Miami, he did spend 6 seasons with the Chiefs (winning Super Bowl LIV in the process), so the player is probably just thinking about what’s in store for him in his future, and keeping the best of attitudes during this time.

Easy Rival Next

The Dolphins are now 1-3 for the season, and their next trip is to Gilette Stadium.

What’s good for Miami is that they play the Patriots next, and with New England, their division rivals, playing awfully bad this season, it should give the Florida franchise some room to breathe.
