Marshawn Lynch Celebrates Seahawks Super Bowl Win in Nike Ad
The victory over the New England Patriots in Super Bowl 60, which the Seattle Seahawks won by a score of 29-13, awarded them their second Lombardi Trophy. A number of folks, including Marshawn Lynch, were among the first to offer their congratulations on their victory.
Lynch, who was a member of the Seahawks team that competed in and won Super Bowl 48, was featured in an advertisement for Nike that congratulated the Seahawks on their victory over the Patriots.
What is the central message of the message? As the message “Bitter Tastes Sweet” was displayed across the screen at the conclusion of Lynch’s monologue, it gave the impression that Lynch was intent on exacting revenge.
Lynch stated, “I’m not even going to hold on to this.” “Bitter is an acquired taste. That’s how you know its not for everybody. But the real ones know where that flavor is. When you get to the bottom of that mug, when there ain’t nothing left but that grit, that’s where you really appreciate that grind. Because nothing tastes as good as getting your lick back.”
After Russell Wilson threw an interception to Malcolm Butler on the goal line in the final minute of the game, the Seahawks were infamously defeated by the Patriots in Super Bowl 49, which was their final appearance in the title game before Super Bowl 60. The score was 28-24.
While there was plenty of time left to get off many plays, the final offensive play of the game for Seattle was subjected to a great deal of scrutiny. Many people were curious as to why head coach Pete Carroll and offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell chose not to run with Lynch rather than taking advantage of the opportunity.
By referring to the agony of that close loss, Lynch’s advertisement is, of course, celebrating the sweet aspect of the Seahawks’ revenge, which came with their shellacking of the Patriots in Super Bowl 60. But Lynch is also recalling the bitterness of that near defeat.
At the end of the advertisement, Lynch asked, “It tastes good, doesn’t it?”
