Juan Hernandez Signs New Contract With Barcelona
It has been revealed by Barcelona that Juan Hernandez has signed a new deal with the club that will keep him with the club until the year 2028.
The young player, who is only 18 years old, has already played in 20 games for Barcelona Athletic so far this season. He has scored four goals and contributed four assists, and he has also been called up twice to the first-team squad for matches in 2025-26.
The official statement from the club is as follows:
“FC Barcelona has reached an agreement with player Juan Hernández to extend his contract, which will link him to the Club for the next two seasons, until June 30, 2028, with the option to extend the agreement between both parties for one more year. This includes the possibility of extending the agreement for an additional year.”
Despite the fact that he has already been working with the reserve squad this season, the Aragonese midfielder will continue to be a member of the club when he has finished his junior career. In point of fact, he officially joined Barca Atlético in January of this year, thereby reducing his number from 30 to 20, which he may make his debut with this coming Sunday. Additionally, José Ramón Alexanco, who is the Director of Youth Football, was present at the signing to accompany him.
It had been speculated that Paris Saint-Germain were interested in signing Hernandez on a free transfer; however, Hernandez’s decision to extend his contract with Barcelona should put a stop to their suspicions.
As a result of Dro Fernandez’s departure, there has been speculation that Hernandez would be given additional opportunities to play with the first team, and he is clearly someone who should be carefully monitored at the moment.
