Steelers and NFL call Aaron Rodgers’ bluff as he threatens to take his ball and go home
Aaron Rodgers is currently in a difficult situation. He recently finished his visit to the Pittsburgh Steelers, and according to all accounts, the two parties had a good meeting, and the Steelers were pleased with Rodgers’ demeanor. The Steelers are now waiting for Rodgers after neither team discussed any contracts.
How long must the Steelers wait for Rodgers to make a decision? Adam Schefter of ESPN, who was on ESPN Milwaukee last week, said that Rodgers provided an intriguing information about his future.
“I’m hearing he might not want to play.” 👀

Rodgers may not have as much market as he thinks
Rodgers’ option is quickly running out because the New York Giants signed Russell Wilson last week. He refuses to see Cleveland and its trash. Nor is Tennessee, which is set to retain Will Levis and choose Miami (FL) quarterback Cam Ward first overall. If he wishes to prolong his career, the Steelers are his only option.
Perhaps Rodgers is using Schefter as a go-between to persuade the Minnesota Vikings to hire him. Despite J.J. McCarthy missing the entire 2024 season due to a damaged meniscus, it appears that the Vikings are dedicated to having him play in 2025. McCarthy technically is a rookie who has never thrown an NFL pass, so perhaps Rodgers is hoping that he is not fully recovered.
Rodgers could believe that the NFL still needs him and that he still has the league in his hands. Let’s be honest, though. Following his humiliation in New York, they were eager to let him go at the end of the season. It feels like a flight from the capital to fly from New York to Pittsburgh or Minnesota, and it’s likely to make him feel less confident. Additionally, Rodgers is not very interested in him as an NFL analyst, in contrast to Tom Brady.
The Steelers are a dependable team that has the resources and know-how to deal with Rodgers’ shenanigans, unlike the New York Jets. Do you recall Antonio Brown? They have won games and moved on from many players who were unhappy like him. Additionally, it is unrealistic to anticipate that head coach Mike Tomlin will go out of his way for any player, much less Rodgers.
The message will be quite apparent if the Steelers do the silliest thing possible and choose a quarterback high in April. The rest of the NFL, including the Steelers, is sick of his bullshit.
