Deion Sanders has reportedly communicated his interest in the position of head coach within the Las Vegas Raiders organization.

Antonio Pierce was terminated by Tom Brady and the remainder of the ownership group shortly after the conclusion of the 2024 NFL season. The Raiders concluded the season with a record of 4-13, and Pierce was awarded the sixth pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. General manager Tom Telesco was also dismissed of his duties a few days later, as Las Vegas is seeking a new beginning for the upcoming season.

Sanders is one of the names that consistently surfaces in the rumor mill, despite the fact that there are numerous candidates who have been considered for the Raiders’ coaching position. Additionally, it is believed that the head coach of Colorado has expressed his interest in the position.

Sanders has purportedly “reached out to the Raiders” regarding the position and has “a very strong interest in the job,” according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

Las Vegas has conducted interviews with Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson, Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn, and Kansas City Chiefs defensive coordinator Steve Pagnuolo, according to recent reports. There are also plans for Las Vegas to convene with former head coaches of the Seattle Seahawks and the New York Jets, Pete Carroll and Robert Saleh.

The latest information regarding Sanders’ aspiration to become the head coach of the Raiders appears to contradict his recent statements. Sanders disclosed his qualifications for coaching in the NFL during an appearance on ABC’s “Good Morning America 3.”
