Giants Coach Brian Daboll Reaction to Airplane Banner
Brian Daboll, the coach of the Giants, reacts to a flyover banner that demands several firings.
Sunday’s 35-14 loss to the Baltimore Ravens was the latest in the New York Giants’ troubles this week. And making it even more ugly? Another flyover over MetLife Stadium, this time featuring an airplane dragging a banner that begs Giants owner John Mara.
“Mr. Mara enough – we won’t stop until you fire everyone.”
This is the Giants’ second flyover banner in as many weeks; last week, before their 14–11 loss to the Saints, a banner with the words, “MR MARA ENOUGH — PLZ FIX THIS DUMPSTER FIRE,” sailed over MetLife.
Lamar Jackson dominated the Giants’ defense, suggesting that the team found it difficult to draw motivation from the aerial pleas. Jackson gained 290 yards and five touchdowns by completing 21 of 25 ball attempts. To make matters worse, Jackson ran for 65 yards on six tries.
Due to Tommy DeVito’s injury, Tim Boyle had to step in under center, forcing the Giants—who were already on their third starting quarterback of the season—to resort to yet another unlikely suspect. The journeyman did, to his credit, get in touch with Malik Nabers, who scored his first touchdown since Week 3.
“Yeah, just control what we can control,” Daboll said to the cries for his dismissal from above.
In the future, Daboll is preparing to play a game this week following the Giants’ ninth consecutive defeat.
The Giants have had trouble finding any kind of consistency or output, even though they have some promising young players on both sides of the ball. The Giants have the NFL’s lowest scoring offense, averaging less than 15 points per game and giving up 23.4 points per game, which puts them in the bottom 12.
