Dolphins not Pushing WR Odell Beckham Jr. to Practice
Although Odell Beckham Jr. is not yet ready to participate in practice with the Miami Dolphins, head coach Mike McDaniel has allayed any concerns that may have been raised regarding the 31-year-old player’s readiness for the regular season. At the beginning of training camp, Beckham was placed on the physically unable to perform list due to an injury that was not disclosed.
In the previous week, McDaniel stated that he would put the receiver in the “week to week” category. Nevertheless, McDaniel stated that Beckham has already persuaded his colleagues that he is a diligent worker, even if he has not yet been on the field during live practice sessions. Following his release from the Baltimore Ravens, Beckham took advantage of the offseason to sign a contract with Miami that was for one year.
On Tuesday, McDaniel made the following statement: “What you don’t want, and what I know Odell doesn’t want, is getting on the grass and then leaving there without doing anything.”
Therefore, all that is required is to get people ready to be the version of themselves in which they perform with self-assurance and conviction… Odell, his teammates are aware that he is putting in a lot of effort because he demonstrates it to them each and every day when he returns to the field. In order to participate in meetings, he did not sign up for football.
Despite the fact that my gatherings are an extremely entertaining experience, I do not believe that was the case. He is making efforts to get back on the pitch as soon as possible. During the previous season, Beckham participated in 14 games, including six starts, and he caught 35 receptions for a total of 565 yards and three touchdowns.
In the playoffs, he added four receptions for a total of 34 yards while playing for the Ravens. Beckham, who has been selected to the Pro Bowl three times, provides quarterback Tua Tagovailoa with a third trustworthy option, following in the footsteps of studs Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle. Beckham is currently in Miami for his fifth stop.
During the 2014 NFL Draft, he was taken by the New York Giants with the 12th overall pick. In addition, he has played with the Cleveland Browns (2019-21), the Los Angeles Rams (2021), and the Baltimore Ravens.
after the 2022 season, Beckham was sidelined due to a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) that he sustained after the Rams’ victory in Super Bowl LVI. Throughout his career, he has played in 110 games and started 97 of them. He has 566 receptions, 7,932 receiving yards, and 59 touchdowns.
